Nelly

This weekend, Live Nation launched their first ever U.S. drive-in concert series – Live From The Drive In – marking a highly anticipated return to live, in person events in a safe and socially distanced manner. Nelly, Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, El Monstero, and Yacht Rock Revue kicked off the series with performances across Nashville, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. Country superstar Brad Paisley headlined the Live Nation U.S. drive-in concert series and all three stops were sold out; however, it was a particularly epic night for Nelly and St. Louis hip-hop fans — as Nelly celebrated the 20th anniversary of his album Country Grammar on Sunday at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.

In this “photo flashback” we’re taking a trip down memory lane w/ Nelly at the Hollywood Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, MO (St. Louis) on July 12, 2020. Continue Reading below for more photos of Nelly and St. Lunatics from Live Nation’s “Live From The Drive In” concert series. Young Dolph @ The Fillmore (Photo by Abdullah Konte)

Young Dolph and Key Glock performed for a sold out crowd at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland on March 1, 2020 — and Hazy Eye Music Media’s contributor Abdullah Konte was there to capture some of this soon to be classic Fillmore rap show. Young Dolph recently confirmed that he is retiring from the rap game. That’s right. Total bummer for his fans, but great news for his kids. We are truly grateful to have this “Photo Flashback.” Thanks Abdullah!

Digable Planets @ The Birchmere (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Digable Planets played for a sold out crowd at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia on February 24, 2020 — and I, Andy Jillson, was there to capture some of the eclectic performance. This show was sold out for a reason. Digable Planets were awesome! Seriously. Wow. I am extremely fortunate to have obtained a photo pass for this show. I dig, Digable Planets. Grandmaster Flash performed for a sold out crowd at U Street Music Hall in Washington, DC on February 8, 2020 — and Hazy Eye Music Media contributors were there to check it out. Flash’s interactive set (which includes Flash, his turntables, laptop, and a projection screen) rocked U Street for 3 solid hours, and the man never missed a beat.

Snoop Dogg performed at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland on January 19, 2020 — and I, Andy Jillson, was there in the photo pit “smokin’ indo” with the rap and hip-hop icon. The show was sold out, the venue was tightly packed, and the crowd was “highly” anxious. The fans went absolutely crazy at first site of tha Dogg. Once again I was overcome with awe. Snoop dominated the mic and smoked out the entire venue. Wow.

Incubus recently announced a fall tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Make Yourself — and the band stopped in Washington, DC to play two nights at the Warner Theatre. I was fortunate enough to photograph Incubus on the second night, October 13, 2019. Wow. What a show. Incubus’ performance will be making my top 5 best concerts of the year list. So much fun. So many great songs. Yep, Incubus was on point and the setlist was fucking awesome! Continue reading below for full concert review. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.
