It was a rainy Sunday night on August 8, 2021 when Dermot Kennedy took the stage at The Pageant in St. Louis. The venue hummed with the energy that only a sold out show could provide. The show itself was emotional for me in numerous ways. This was the first concert I attended since the pandemic started in early 2020, over a year ago. Just being back in a crowd of like-minded music lovers was enough to send tingles straight down my spine.

Anyway, tickets for upcoming Dermot Kennedy shows can be purchased at dermotkennedy.com/tour. Also be sure to check out the Official Dermot Kennedy Website for music, videos, merch, and all upcoming tour dates. Modest Mouse played to a sold out crowd at The Met in Philadelphia, PA on 8/5/21. The band are currently on an extensive US summer and fall tour in support of their new album, The Golden Casket. This was my first time at The Met and my first time seeing Modest Mouse live since 1999. It felt amazing being in the photo pit for this show.

Anyway, tickets for upcoming Modest Mouse shows can be purchased at modestmouse.com/#tour. Japanese Breakfast (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Japanese Breakfast played for a sold out crowd at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD last week. This was the first performance of their 2021 tour, and one I will remember for years to come. The venue was extremely hot and packed tightly; however, the crowd loved every second of it. I was personally so caught up in the musical excitement that three songs in the photo pit went by in a blink. Amazing performance. Amazing artist. Enough said.

Anyone who has a chance should give Japanese Breakfast a listen and buy a ticket to one of the shows. Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase at japanesebreakfast.rocks/tour. Continue reading below for more photos information. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

The Infamous Stringdusters (Photo by Andy Jillson)

The Infamous Stringdusters played three sold out shows in a row at B Chord Brewing in Round Hill, VA last weekend. I was there covering their performances on Friday (4/16) and Saturday (4/17). These were the Stringdusters’ first shows in over a year. The band and crowd alike were overjoyed and full of positive energy. A good time was had by all.

Anyway, in this photo flashback we’re taking a glimpse into the world of post-COVID concerts. Be sure to check out the Official Infamous Stringdusters Website for music, videos, merch, and upcoming shows. Bumpin Uglies kicked off the weekend at Baltimore Soundstage on March 19, 2021 and I was fortunate enough to be there enjoying the live music and spacious photo pit. The performance was their first of three sold out shows at Soundstage last week. This was my first time back in the venue since February 2020. Felt so good. It was a much needed dose of socially-distanced live music and concert photography.

Anyway, in this photo flashback we’re taking a glimpse into the world of post-COVID concerts. Continue reading below for more shots of Bumpin Uglies performing for a sold out room of mask-wearing fans in Baltimore, MD. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

Eric Scott (Photo by Andy Jillson)

The Eric Scott Band played a sold out show at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis, MD on February 25, 2021 and I was there doing my best to photograph the band behind a plexiglass barrier. Eric Scott is a Washington, DC singer-songwriter and bassist. He has toured internationally and is a 15-time Wammie winner, as awarded by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA). He’s also a 2021 Wammie Finalist. Amazing.

Anyway, in this photo flashback, we’re taking a trip down memory lane with the Eric Scott Band. This was my first show of the year, and Eric’s too!
