Okay, Okay, it is time for another concert review! Lights stopped in Washington, DC to perform at The Atlantis on 6/1/2025. She is currently touring North America on her “(A)LIVE AGAIN” tour with support from King Mala. The Canadian synth-pop icon brought her amazing talents to DC, showcasing her new album A6, and performed her heart out creating an amazing night.
Anyway, continue reading below for more photos of Lights and my full review of the show. Be sure to check out Light’s Official Website for music, videos, news, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. Images are taken and provided by John Krebs, Carpe Tempus Photography, © All rights reserved.
This was my first time seeing Lights live, but I have been a fan for years, since her album Little Machines came out. I love the blending of guitar, synths, and her angelic voice that creates an amazing sound. I was excited to see her perform at The Atlantis, a small and intimate venue in Washington, DC.
The show started off with a solid opener, King Mala. The alt-pop artist set the vibes for the night with her thematic music and upbeat sound. It was during this set that I discovered that the floor of The Atlantis will legitimately bounce when others jump. This is not a figure of speech, the floor legitimately was bouncing, which seemed to excite the crowd. King Mala performed a tight set and got the audience ready for Lights.
The house lights dimmed, LEDs ignited, and the faint sounds of “Day Two,” a beautiful melody of synths and Lights vocals, started to play. The Canadian icon took the stage and the crowd erupted in unison. She went into “Damage,” “Okay Okay,” and “Running with the Boys,” setting the stage for the entire night. I was having so much fun capturing these images as I couldn’t help but bob and bounce to the beat. Her music has an amazing positive effect on people, lifting anyone out of a bad mood.
There were so many memorable moments, from Lights performing “Face Up” and “Up We Go” completely solo and almost acoustic, to the crowd displaying little ghosts on their phone lights during “Ghost Girl on First.” Lights introduced the song as her homage to Taking Back Sunday’s “Ghost Man on Third” which created a tender moment with the audience. When the crowd displayed their little ghosts, Lights was completely taken by surprise and blown away by the surprise. Hues of orange, yellow, blue, and white swayed back and forth as Lights sung.
Lights went on to perform a 20 song setlist including “Siberia,” Suspension,” “Speeding,” “Surface Tension,” and a melody of “Savior,” “Drive My Soul,” and “Second Go.” I loved watching Light’s interacting with the crowd. From high fives, special handshakes, and conversations, Lights is a genuine artist who loves her audience.
If you ever get the chance to catch Lights perform, do not hesitate. You will leave the performance with a huge smile and just feeling lighter. I know I will go see her anytime she comes to the area. Make sure you check out A6 where ever you listen to music and enjoy the ride! Below are more images of Lights performing at The Atlantis in Washington, DC on 6/1/2025.
